Episode 61: Interview with Danny Goel, M.D., Co-Founder and CEO of Precision OS │ Using Virtual Reality to Help Train the Next Generation of Surgeons
In this episode Maxwell Cooper, M.D. interviews Danny Goel, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon and Co-Founder and CEO of Precision OS, a virtual reality surgical simulation and training platform. Dr. Goel discusses how Precision OS is a platform used by surgeons and residents to learn new procedures, refine surgical skills, and demo new medical devices. Precision OS has recently released the first surgical training virtual reality curriculum to allow surgical simulation with their platform to be integrated in to residency programs to help residents practice and refine surgical skills. Precision OS has also enabled medical device companies to train surgeons and sales staff on how to use their portfolio of medical devices. Dr. Goel also discusses the importance of building a great team, especially with co-founders that compliment your skill sets. Lastly, Dr. Goel discusses how he balances his orthopaedic surgical practice with running Precision OS and how they enhance each other.
